| See Here
See Here is a small book packed with information about the eye, the anatomy
of the eye, as well as common ailments and how they are treated. Interspersed
with the science are stories from Cantarella's years as a medical illustrator
for some of the nation's leading ophthalmic surgeons. Some of the stories
are humorous, some informative about how medical illustrations are done
and how the information for them is gathered. From dissections to observing
surgery, the author takes us to a world few have seen. It all started in the year 1964 when a scratch on her cornea sent her to her ophthalmologist Who was looking for an illustrator for his thesis on the anatomical causes of glaucoma. Later her ophthalmologist introduced her to the world famous corneal surgeon Richard Troutman, who was writing his text, Microsurgery of the Eye, introducing the use of the microscope in ophthalmic surgery. He asked her to illustrate his book. And there started the fascinating career which is told in these pages.
There are fourteen illustrations done by the author especially for this
book, and three taken from other books that she illustrated.
We are an independent book publisher located in South Westerlo,
New York. Bones and Muscles: An Illustrated
Anatomy is our first book. See Here
is the second book on the anatomy of the eye; a book that Cantarella
is well trained to undertake from her lifetime as an illustrator
for Ophthalmology. We have several more in mind for the future.
